The image on the left is a butterfly's head; the image on the right is a fly's wing joint, known as a "haltere." Both images are from MicroAngela, as are the next two. I find these images reminiscent of Surrealist photography.
This is a diatom captured under MicroAngela's electron microscope.
This is a micrograph of a radiolarian. The coloring is reminiscent of pop photography, particularly those that utilized screenprinting.
